Short-Term Medical Plans are Changing!
Federal legislation changed for short-term medical insurance starting on September 1, 2024. Plans will now be limited to a 3-month duration with an option of a 1-month extension in a rolling 12-month time frame. However, these are not guaranteed renewable. This means that in most states, Short Term Medical (STM) plans will be reduced to a maximum of 4 months. TriTerm Medical (TTM) plans will not be an option as 3-year term length coverage is eliminated.
